The Department of Environment and Science said they were aware of the incident and that Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service were investigating. He claimed the large crocodile 'does live there and travels up and down the area'. Newell Beach Takeaway and Cafe owner Peter Capp told the publication he knew of a large crocodile that resided in the area where the man was attacked. ![]() The man checked in at 10pm and received treatment for his injuries before being discharged from hospital overnight.
